term 4

Term 4 has been so helpful for me and so fun I'm just sad that it's about to end. I have learnt so much this term and I'm ready to head straight to intermediate. It has been challenging this term but I needed it. The sports this term has been fun like always like surfing, athletics and cross country.


I have done fun stuff like the year 6 item and kapa haka festival, it has been a honor to come to Wainui Beach and to represent Wainui. We have also been doing Culture City about all the other cultures in the world like learning what language Mexicans speak what Egyptians music sound like.


This term my favourite thing we did is probably  interschool athletics because we were representing our school and doing fun sports. I can't wait to go to to intermediate so I can see my siblings and so I can play more sports that I really like.  Last Tuesday we went to visit our new school that we are going to next year and we did a treasure hunt and some fun sports and got to get something from the cafe it looks like the school I really want to go to.

Kapa Haka Festival.

Waiting just off the stage, I felt ready to perform .Yesterday, Wainui Beach School went to the Turanganui Schools Maori Cultural Festival at the Showgrounds .We had a performance of 13 minutes and that felt like it went really fast!  We have spent all year practicing our songs and moves .I have really enjoyed learning Utaina the most.

I was in front row and i was ready to take action. It was finally time to go on stage we walked into our lines that we had practiced to do .
Then Hunter started to sing Tu Mai Ra , we started to walk to the front of the stage in a triangle .everyone started to clap and then i was happy.

After a while we did the haka and I tried to stay as strong as i could while doing it .When we started I knew all the boys where pumped up to do the haka .the haka was super strong and really fast and at the end everyone did a pukana and had really serious face .I felt so happy after we had finished and I was pretty tired.  

Enlighten me.

Hi welcome back to my blog this weeks blog post is about Enlighten me. The topic this week is about mirrors and reflections. A mirror is a reflection of light . Reflections are light reflecting off mirrors

 When you put the two mirrors on an angle with an element in side of the two mirrors, they form more mirrors and more  reflections of the element in side. If you put the mirrors  wider apart, the reflections are less . When you put the two mirrors facing each other there are infinite reflections. It's like it never stops; it's if it's bouncing back to each other. It was very amazing .

 After we had a play with the two little mirrors we got out two big mirrors. There was a convex mirror and a concave mirror.A convex mirror is just like the normal mirrors that you look in but it can see a long distance. A concave mirror is like it caves all the background in and focuses on just you.

science

In my reading group we have been working on science about the earth. We learned about all of the spheres around the world like the Geosphere and the hydrosphere and the biosphere and we all know the atmosphere. And without them we would not be alive and even if just one of the spheres  were gone then we would have a very big problem.

If you are wondering what all of the spheres are then I have the answer for you. The biosphere is nature like all the plants and trees and grass and without the biosphere we would not be able to breath.

The geosphere is stuff like lava and rocks but mostly rocks and without the geosphere there would be no earth. the hydrosphere is water and without water there would be no fish no humans. The last one is the atmosphere it's our air our what we breath and with no air we would not be here.

Then on our last activity we found out there was more water than land there was 71 percent water and 29 percent of land I. Think that science is very interesting and fun it's now one of my hobbies.

Term 2

This term I've been doing so much stuff I went to the electricity museum I tried to work this army motorbike and it was still in condition it just needed  oil there were tanks there and one could still worked. 

And our main focus for this term is retro tech it was so fun I learned so much about how people used to use things back in the day it was interesting we were working on old irons there were some only like 5cm crazy right.this is the photo.

I also played basketball for my school for the first time it was so awesome we got 5th out of 12 schools and we got the spot prize it had about 22 balls in it and some t shirts and much much more. 

Retro tech quick write

Retro tech is an old equipment that people used to use years and years ago like
the first ipod or how you had to record songs to listen to them. Retro tech is
something that is very very old and some of those old technology we use today
but pretty much upgraded into better and easier use. If you had first iron made in
your hands today do you think you could figure out what to do because there
much harder than you think.

Back in the old days irons were only for right handed people if you were left
handed you would have to have your left hand tied behind your back because
people would think you would be a witch.

Retro tech is pretty hard to use depending on what it is I found out that you had to
put coal in the first iron that would be really long and one of the first computers
had flat screens but now we have more better screens. Now in the future we have
improved technology a lot better.

 I did this video for my maths on wednesday and I loved it.you should try it, I think it was very clever and it will now help me alot in my maths now I hope you like it.
